What is Electronic fuel injection (EFI) system?
Electronic fuel injection (EFI) is short for electronically controlled fuel injection. It uses an electronic control unit (ECU) to precisely regulate fuel injection volume, replacing traditional carburetor technology.
1.Core Function
The EFI system uses sensors to monitor engine parameters (such as air flow, engine speed, and temperature) in real time. The ECU then calculates and controls the injector's energization timing, precisely adjusting the injection volume and timing to ensure the optimal air-fuel ratio for each engine operating condition.
2.Types and Advantages
Single-point injection: Fuel is injected into the intake manifold and mixed with air before entering the cylinder.
Multi-point injection: Fuel is injected at multiple locations in the intake manifold to improve atomization.
Direct injection: Fuel is injected directly into the cylinder, mixing with air within the combustion chamber for improved combustion efficiency.
3. Performance Improvement
EFI systems can significantly improve performance, reduce fuel consumption, and meet stricter emission regulations. Compared with traditional carburetors, its air-fuel ratio control is more precise, fuel atomization is more complete, and combustion efficiency is higher.
